Being busy is an essential part of the way we live today. It has everything to do with wanting to feel and look consistently active. No one wants to look like they aren’t working hard for what they earn, and so most people don’t have a lot of spare time. The only problem with this mentality is that if you’re not a well-organized person, chaos can set in. Then, not only are you extremely busy, you can’t seem to get anything done, either. Check out these tips to see if they can help you kill the chaos and bring in a new level of organization into your life.

Set Your Agenda When You Take Phone Calls

Don’t just muddle your way through phone calls. Not only will you often forget what you needed to talk about in the first place, you’ll have to spend more time later calling that person to talk to them again. Write out a few quick notes on a list when you first call someone. Make sure you talk about everything on your list, even if you digress or get involved in a different conversation with your client. Your notes don’t have to be anything fancy. A simple sticky note in front of you will do the trick.

Do Your Job, Not Other’s

Even if you’re a manager at your company, it’s important you get your job done before you try and do someone else’s job. Checking in with an employee is one thing, but micromanaging everything they do is another. You’ll impede your progress and the employee’s progress, too. Instead, explain what your worker needs to do, suggest a few ways to do it, and then move on. If you come back and it hasn’t been done the right way, correct them and show them the way it has to be done. Then leave them so you can work on your own projects.
