How to Treat Your Employees Well in a Budget-Friendly MannerYour employees deserve to know you care about all of the hard work that they do for you, but how can you tell them without breaking the bank? Here are a few creative ideas.

Say It in Words or in a Card

Tracking down a hard-working employee and just thanking them can mean a lot. Being recognized as a positive force in the workplace can make people feel like they’re worth something. This in turn means they’ll continue to do an outstanding job. Sending them a well-written thank you note with a small token of your appreciation – such as a gift card –will brighten anyone’s day significantly.

Give Them More Flexible Hours

Not everyone is an 8 o’clock in the morning kind of person. Some like to come in earlier, and some like to come in much later. When an employee does an excellent job at finishing all of their work on time, reward them with the ability to come in and leave whenever they’d like. For example, if your regular work day is from 9-5, let them come in 8-4 or 10-6 instead. You are showing your employee that you trust them to self-manage, and this can make them feel more confident. More confidence means higher efficiency.

Massages are Relaxing Gifts

Giving a team player a certificate to a spa or a massage parlor can make them not only feel appreciated, but relaxed as well. One of the reasons people burn out and begin to dislike their jobs is because they are constantly on the ball and doing what they have to do, regardless if they feel like doing it. These workers are often exceptional employees until they burn out, so stop the burning in its tracks and give that worker a gift certificate and the rest of the afternoon off to enjoy it.
