As a business owner, you're always on the lookout for new ways to save money. If you own and operate a fleet of vehicles to be used during the conduct of your business, then when it's time to replace a vehicle in your fleet, you may want to consider one of the following options.
The Ford Escape Hybrid
With a base price of $30,570, this one deserves a mention because it represents an excellent mix of economy and load capacity. Whatever business you're in, from time to time, you've got to move equipment from Point A to Point B. This vehicle will not only give you great gas mileage at a reasonable price, it's also got enough storage space to get the job done. An outstanding addition to your fleet.
The Toyota Prius
With a list price of $25,010, what you're getting here is the best selling hybrid on the market today. As a compact hatchback, you won't get a lot of raw load space out of this one, but it's fantastic for short hops in town and between locations, where its various energy saving systems really get a chance to shine. If you live in a major metro area, this is an exquisite choice.
The Nissan Leaf
This one comes in at $29,830 base price and is an all electric vehicle. Because the infrastructure isn't yet in place for reliable cross country travel in an all electric, this one's only good for in town travel. However, if most of your business is conducted inside a major metro area, then that need not be a concern for you. A fantastic addition to your fleet, if a bit short on carrying space, which makes it a bit less versatile.
ForTwo Electric
Coming in at only $19,080, this is one inexpensive, eco friendly vehicle. It's also a mini-car, which means that you probably won't be able to use it for much more than hops across town. Certainly this would not be the vehicle of choice to try and load Trade Show supplies in, or for making cross country trips, but when used for the purpose it was intended, it's hard to beat this model. It is, in fact, the greenest model of 2014.
The Toyota Prius C
This is the newest, smallest, and least expensive Prius for sale, and it lists for about six thousand dollars less than its big brother mentioned above. That said, we're well into small car territory here, so the purpose that the vehicle will be used for is an important consideration. If your main need is for a short distance shuttle, this one will serve you well. If you're looking for something more versatile, the Prius C may leave you short.
An honorable mention should, of course go to the Tesla Model S. It's too expensive to actually make the list, but it is an all electric vehicle with a 300 mile range, and Elon Musk has already built a nationwide network of charging stations that make it possible to drive across country and back. Other all electrics couldn't make the trip, because they lack the per charge range. Tesla, of course, laughs at such limits, putting it in a class by itself. It's worth considering for the bragging rights alone.
